2008 Playoffs

There will be 7 teams that make the playoffs. The top 3 seeds will receive byes to the semi-finals. The #4 through #7 seeds will fight for the remaining semi-final spot in a single elimination Play-In Bracket.

#1 AND #2 SEEDS

The winners of each division receive the #1 and #2 seeds. The division winner with the best record gets the #1 seed, the other gets the #2 seed. If the records are identical, the 2-team tiebreaker system will be used to determine the #1 and #2 seeds.

The #1 seed receives a bye into the Semi-Finals and will play the winner of the Play-In Bracket in their Semi-Final Best-of-3 Series.

The #2 seed receives a bye into the Semi-Finals and will play the #3 seed in their Semi-Final Best-of-3 Series.

#3 AND #4 SEEDS

The 2nd place teams in each division receive the #3 and #4 seeds. If the records are identical, the 2-team tiebreaker system will be used to determine the #3 and #4 seed.

The #3 seed receives a bye into the Semi-Finals and will play the #2 seed in their Semi-Final Best-of-3 Series.

The #4 seed does not receive a bye into the semi-finals. The #4 seed will play the #7 seed in the first round of the Play-In Bracket.

#5, #6, and #7 SEEDS

The #5, #6, and #7 seeds are given to the remaining teams with the best records. If two remaining teams have identical records, the two-team tiebreaker system will be used. If 3 or more teams have identical records, the Three-team tiebreaker system will be used.

The #5 seed will play the #6 seed in the first round of the Play-In Bracket.

The #6 seed will play the #5 seed in the first round of the Play-In Bracket.

The #7 seed will play the #4 seed in the first round of the Play-In Bracket.

PLAY-IN BRACKET

The play-in bracket is single elimination. The lower seed is the home team for each game (3 is a lower seed than 5).

BEST-OF-3 SERIES

The Semi-Finals and Finals are Best-of-3 Series. The lower seed will be the home team for games 1 and 3 (if necessary). The higher seed is the home team for Game 2. (3 is a lower seed than 5)

TWO-TEAM TIEBREAKER SYSTEM

(used if records are identical between 2 Teams)

  1. head to head record
  2. head to head offensive runs
  3. total offensive runs in league
  4. head to head run differential
  5. total run differential in league

THREE-TEAM TIEBREAKER SYSTEM

(used if records are identical between 3 or more Teams)

Note: If two teams remain tied after third or other teams are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of the TWO-TEAM SYSTEM

  1. head to head win % against games involving all tied teams
  2. head to head offensive runs against games involving all tied teams
  3. total offensive runs in league
  4. head to head run differential against games involving all tied teams
  5. total run differential in league
